Coastal Cantina: A Hidden Gem in Duck, NC

Good food, simply and for a good price. They also have a creative and diverse drink menu for those looking for a good drink or bar to go to. They had live music as well. It's all outdoor seating near the sound. If you go near sunset, the view is amazing, and picture worthy.

Coastal Cantina in Duck, NC I finally got a chance to check this place out for the first time with one of my best friends, Shawn. I understand why my friend enjoys going here now! Coastal Cantina is like finding pearl in an oyster surprise. I loved everything from the view of being on the water outside at a wooden picnic table to the colorful inside with a beachy display of pictures and decore on the walls. In the breezeway, the combination of reading the hand signed tiles on the bar top while sitting on the piling rope handmade bar stools and listening to the music made me feel like I had no worries!! The fresh salt air breeze made this location perfect! We visited on the Restaurant's last opening day (for the summer) & I was pleasantly surprised to have a few 1¢ Corona drafts and some tasty tacos! Coastal Cantina was running a few amazing specials that day offering frozen margaritas, menu deals and a large variety of drafts for a penny a glass. What an awesome way to give back some appreciation to their loyal locals that support them as they closed out their 2018 summer season with a huge party, well done!! Coastal Cantina is a relaxing place to have lunch after taking a walk through the variety of locally owned eclectic shops that surround it. Awesome view sitting in the sun and relaxing on their huge deck that overlooks the sound in Duck, NC. By water, this restaurant is very easy to access their dock from your boat by pulling right up feet away so you can belly up to the bar for a couple drinks or grab something tasty. Great atmosphere and staff & very clean, need I say more... I will be back (hopefully with my friends next summer by boat next time). The food was hot, fresh and taste great even on their last day of the season. Extra directions... °Locals.. very easy to spot from the Duck sound when pulling up. °Google searchers by car... you can't spot the restaurant from the road so park towards the middle part of the parking lot. Then walk to the middle back part of the shops & go all the way around to the back side (more towards the left side) to the deck at the boat dock. Great food at decent prices. Food was good and filling only down side is there is picnic benches that needed cleaned really bad. Service wasn't bad and the food came out quickly. Bathrooms near by stunk really bad and were not the cleanest. Pinic tables really need resurfaced and cleaned. On of the table was broken and not usable. I would recommend going to this place for the food.

Margaritas were good. Food was okay. Nothing special. Waiting system didn't really work. We were told there was 1 group ahead of us. They seated the guys that got there after us and 2 other groups before us. Then it was a really long wait for tacos. MexicN food is a quick prepare food and they were nusy, but not that busy.

On the way back from an off road trip, we stopped in for a bite to eat. The location is awesome with the water view and out door tables. The food and service were good. The prices are reasonable and the portions are good size. I am confident you won't leave hungry! We enjoyed the fish tacos and the fresh made guacamole. There is a ton of parking in the retail area. The restaurant is located in the back and can be difficult to find. Make sure you walk to find it. Enjoy!

Hungry for lunch we stumbled on some Mexican on the Duck boardwalk. It's not a very large restaurant and there is no indoor seating but it's proximity to the water allowsnforna nice breeze. The food was surprisingly very good and the they have a good beer and drink selection. It's a great place to stop for a quick bite and drink .

This was a real neat place, and I have no idea on their drinks, but the food I can give an opinion on. The salsa was amazing! We were a group of 5 adults and two children. Two or three adults said their chicken was juicy but it, and the whole meal lacked flavor. Two adults said the chicken was dry and lacked flavor.

I don’t know how you couldn’t rate this joint a 5 star. Great food and service with an unbelievable vibe - music and overlooking water hard to beat. Over 10 beers on tap and all drinks made fresh. Mahi and carnitas tacos excellent with great salsa and fresh / flavorful guacamole. And my wife very particular and really enjoyed as well. No way you won’t enjoy.
